while nothing has been posted and no information seems to be out there anyplace I came across something interesting.
An Asphalt track re-opening!
Check it out.
Bethel, New York- After more than a year of lying dormant a Speedway breathes again. The speedway located in Historic Bethel NY that has operated since 1959 has new owners. They are passionate racers and race fans who are dedicated to fostering an environment that will allow long-term success for the Speedway. In fact, their family's race team actually raced the first race at the speedway 49 years ago.
FGR, Inc. has negotiated an agreement with Dave & Joanne Rocket to revive the closed facility. A spokesperson from FGR, Inc. stated that, “Given their past success at race track promoting, the choice for us to have the Rockets control operations here was easy. They are the most proven promoters of this historic track operating it for seven years with a very successful program.”
An anticipated opening date in July is projected. For more information, a meeting is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 15 Crossroads Court & Route 17K, (Next to Orange County Choppers World Headquarters) in Newburgh, NY on Sunday, June 15, 2007, at 7:30 pm.
